Description This project is the first time MDM columns have been used as a foundation solution for a wind power plant.
The power plant used is manufactured by Enercon, and of the type E 48. It has a hub height of 75.6 meters and a foot print of 12.80 meter.
The complete structure, including tower, generator and foudation plattform, weighs in at a little over 750 tons.
In order to keep this whole thing from sinking in the soft clays, we installed 155 MDM columns, 600 mm diameter, with a design strenght of 2 MPa. Standard cement was used as the hardening agent, with no additives.
